About PDF watermarks

A visible watermark states a document's status or ownership before a single word is read: DRAFT on work-in-progress, CONFIDENTIAL on sensitive material, PAID on invoices, or your brand on anything you circulate. This tool stamps your chosen text diagonally (or horizontally) across every page with the size, color and transparency you pick.

How to watermark a PDF

  1. Add your PDF file.
  2. Type the watermark text — CONFIDENTIAL, DRAFT, APPROVED, a name, anything up to 60 characters (A–Z, numbers and basic symbols).
  3. Set size, angle, color and opacity. 30% opacity in gray is the classic look that stays readable without hiding the content.
  4. Press Add watermark and download the stamped copy.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use a logo image as the watermark?

This tool stamps text watermarks (like CONFIDENTIAL, DRAFT or your name) with adjustable size, angle, color and opacity. Image watermarks aren't supported yet.

Can a watermark be removed later?

The watermark becomes part of each page's content, so it can't be simply switched off. But it's a visible deterrent, not security — for real protection, also encrypt the file with the Protect PDF tool.

Can I watermark in Nepali or other scripts?

The standard PDF fonts used cover Latin characters (A–Z, numbers, common symbols), so watermark text needs to be in English letters.
