About splitting PDFs
Splitting turns one PDF into smaller ones — pull out the three pages you actually need from a 90-page manual, separate a combined scan into individual documents, or burst every page into its own file for archiving. Both modes run entirely on your device, so confidential files stay confidential.
How to split a PDF
- Add your PDF — the tool shows how many pages it has.
- Pick a mode: Extract page range(s) produces one new PDF with just the pages you list, while Every page as a separate PDF downloads a ZIP with one file per page.
- For ranges, type page numbers like
1-3, 5, 8-10— commas separate parts, hyphens define runs. - Press Split PDF and grab your download.
Tips
- Ranges can overlap or repeat; duplicates are removed automatically.
- Splitting doesn't recompress anything, so quality is identical to the original.
- To delete a few pages rather than extract them, Remove PDF Pages is quicker.
- To reduce file size at the same time, run the result through Compress PDF.
Frequently asked questions
How do I enter page ranges?
Use commas and hyphens: '1-3, 5, 8-10' extracts pages 1 through 3, page 5, and 8 through 10. The tool shows the total page count after you add the file.
Can I split every page into its own file?
Yes — choose 'Every page as a separate PDF' and you'll get a ZIP containing one numbered PDF per page.
Does splitting lower quality or change formatting?
No. Pages are copied without re-rendering, so the extracted pages are identical to the original.
