About this text compare tool
Paste two versions of any text and see exactly what changed: additions appear in green, deletions in red, with everything else left untouched. The comparison uses the same diff algorithm found in professional developer tools, applied word by word — or line by line if you prefer, which suits code, CSV data and lists.
It's the fastest way to answer questions like: What did the editor change in my article? Which clause differs between these two contract drafts? What's different between these two versions of a paragraph?
How to compare two texts
- Paste the original text on the left and the changed text on the right.
- Tick Ignore case if capitalization differences shouldn't count, or Compare line by line for structured text.
- Press Compare texts and read the highlighted result — green was added, red was removed.
- Use the counters to see how many words changed and the overall similarity.
Privacy
Contracts and drafts are often confidential, which is exactly why this tool never uploads anything. The comparison happens in your browser's memory and disappears when you leave the page.
Frequently asked questions
How does the comparison work?
It uses a standard diff algorithm — the same family of algorithms behind developer tools like Git — to find the smallest set of word-level additions and deletions between your two texts.
Can I compare code or lists line by line?
Yes — tick 'Compare line by line'. Word mode is best for prose; line mode suits code, CSV data and lists where whole-line changes matter.
Is it safe for confidential contracts?
Yes. Both texts are compared inside your browser and never transmitted, stored or logged anywhere.
