How the math works
- Age counts completed calendar units: someone born 15 March 2000 turns exactly 26 years, 4 months, 27 days old on 11 August 2026.
- Month lengths differ, so "months" are calendar months, not blocks of 30 days — this matches how ages are counted on official forms.
- Leap-year birthdays (29 February) are handled correctly; in non-leap years the birthday countdown targets 1 March, the common legal convention.
